BUCKS COUNTY, PA — A 13-year-old Bucks County boy who drove away in his parents' minivan last week has been found in Louisiana — more than 1,300 miles away from his home

But Kadin Willauer, who Pennsylvania State Police say left his home in Milford Township at about 3:30 a.m. last Sunday, appears to have covered even more ground than that. The 2016 Chrysler Town & Country minivan he was driving was spotted Wednesday on Interstate 95 in Fairfax County, Virginia, which is about 180 miles in the opposite direction near Washington, D.C.

Pennsylvania State Police announced that Kadin had been found safe in Louisiana on Friday afternoon. They did not say exactly where in Louisiana he was located.

According to Google Maps, the shortest route from Fairfax County, Virginia, to the Louisiana state line is more than 1,150 miles. After possibly driving through Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland and Virginia, that route would have taken Kadin — who is three years under Pennsylvania's legal driving age — through Tennessee, possibly Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi as well.

Pennsylvania State Police reported that Kadin was spotted less than 30 minutes after leaving his home early last Sunday at a gas station in Upper Saucon Township in Lehigh County. They say security video showed him gassing up the minivan and changing the van's license plate.

He is believed to have changed the license plate at least one more time before he was found in Louisiana.

State police said the minivan did not ping at any E-ZPass locations and that it did not appear Kadin used any credit cards, but that he did have some cash with him.
