LOWER BUCKS COUNTY, PA —Bucks County declared a Code Blue over the weekend as temperatures dip into dangerous levels.

With Arctic air remaining in the region, Bucks County issued a Code Blue through Christmas Eve for overnight temperatures dipping into the 20s.

With the Code Blue, officials have also opened shelters throughout Lower Bucks County.

The county issues a “Code Blue” declaration when temperatures are forecast to drop below 20 degrees for two or more consecutive days.

A “Code Blue” may be called amid higher temperatures, as wind chill, precipitation, and other circumstances are also considered.

The shelters are located at:

  • Neshaminy Warwick Presbyterian, 1401 Meetinghouse Road, Warminster 18974. Opens at 7:30 p.m.
  • Shir Ami Synagogue, 101 Richboro Newtown Road, Newtown, PA 18940. Opens at 8:30 p.m.
