PHILADELPHIA, PA — At least we have one team in Philadelphia that excites us these days.

Fans in the Philadelphia region were excited for a taste of the Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles with the start of the NFL Draft on Thursday night.

While the Birds had the last pick in the first round, General Manager Howie Roseman has accumulated lots of picks for the next several rounds.

Green Bay Puts On A Show For The NFL Draft

Every year, the NFL puts the spotlight on a city for the annual NFL Draft.

Philadelphia got to host the NFL Draft around the Art Museum a few years back, and this time, Green Bay hosted fans surrounding the stage outside historic Lambeau Field. Bart Starr and Vince Lombardi would have been amazed by the crowd.

There are always surprises, steals, and deals on Draft Day. And Thursday night met that criteria. The New York Giants may have been the winner on Night One by getting the top edge rusher in the draft and then trading back into the first round to grab the team's quarterback of the future.

The Birds have lots of holes to plug since teams have robbed their Super Bowl roster. But they did get a major player that fell into their lap.

Birds Grab Top Linebacker Who Falls Down 1st Round

He was a wanted man. Eagles General Manager Howie Roseman tried to trade up for him with no luck. Until he switched places with the Kansas City Chiefs at the end of the first round. And now the Birds have snatched a player who was once projected in mock drafts in the Top 10.

Since the team loves Alabama players, Roseman traded up one spot to No. 31 to draft Linebacker Jihaad Campbell out of Alabama, only giving up pick No. 164 (fifth round) to swap spots.

Campbell, 21, who has some injury issues, may become a beast. He was a two-year starter and may be slotted as an Edge Rusher.

Are Philadelphia Phillies Not As Good As We Thought?

It's getting difficult to watch the Philadelphia Phillies. The team just got swept in three games by the rival New York Mets and now has a 13-12 record going into a weekend with the red-hot Chicago Cubs.

The bats are cold, and the pitching is struggling. The bullpen is lousy as it is every year. It might be time to shake things up by maybe firing the hitting coach or replacing the manager. This team needs a spark. Bryce Harper isn't getting any younger, and this may be the last go-around with Kyle Schwarber, J.T. Realmuto, Trea Turner, and company.
