Firefighters Battle Blaze At Warminster Pawn Shop

Fire crews had to use a backhoe to tear out part of a wall at the business to get at the fire.

WARMINSTER, PA — Firefighters in Warminster had to tear out part of the wall of a local business to put out a fire there Friday morning.

According to fire department alerts, the fire was at Warminster Cash Exchange, a pawn shop at 223 York Rd. near Fir Street

Firefighters from several companies responded to the fire at about 8:20 a.m. and found smoke coming from the roof of the building.

According to Hartsville Fire Company, firefighters forced their way into the business and began fighting the fire. Crews had to chase a fire that was hidden between a wall and a facade and eventually used a backhoe to remove part of the wall so they could get to the flames.

The fire was brought under control in two hours, Hartsville Fire said.

There were no injuries in the blaze and the Warminster Township Fire Marshal was investigating the cause of the fire on Friday.
