Hurts Can Command Eagles To Win: This Week In Philly Sports
The Philadelphia Eagles face the Washington Commanders in Sunday's NFC Championship Game. The game may be on the shoulders of Jalen Hurts.

PHILADELPHIA, PA —Philadelphia Eagles Quarterback Jalen Hurts can do something Sunday that no QB in the franchise's history has ever done.
If the Birds beat the Washington Commanders in Sunday's NFC Championship Game, Hurts can represent the Birds as the team's only quarterback to twice make it to the Super Bowl.
All Hurts has to do is perform at a high level as he has done many times in his career with the Eagles. After all, this man is a winner. His 49-27 record as the Eagles starting quarterback proves it.

While Patrick Mahomes may capture all the glory and Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson may have higher star power, Hurts has silently built a reputation as someone who has found a way to get the job done.
We may not always like him.

We Philly fans are passionate and Hurts is no Jim McMahon. He shows little passion and enjoyment for the game even like Donovan McNabb, another winner and considered the greatest quarterback in Philadelphia Eagles history.
Hurts constantly gets bashed by Philly fans and the media, but he finds a way to win.
Look at this season.
Did Hurts play anywhere near his MVP level when he took the Birds to a Super Bowl loss against the Kansas City Chiefs due to his fumble which changed the game and snatched a victory from the team?
Last year, the Birds collapsed with a major fumble and stumble into the playoffs after firing out of the gates where Hurts was once again declared as an MVP candidate. The Birds got blown away by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers when they should have rebounded and soared into the Super Bowl.
But Hurts rebounded this year. He became a game manager. The 14-3 record —a franchise record for victories —speaks for itself.
Of course, the Birds have banked on all-world running back Saquon Barkley and a rejuvenated defense to get them into this position to play in the NFC Championship Game.
McNabb was there many times, but could only get the job done once —and that was a losing effort to the New England Patriots and Tom Brady in the Super Bowl.
Now Eagles Legend Nick Foles fared better against Brady, bringing the Birds their first Super Bowl win ever.
Hurts has a Super Bowl loss to his credentials, just like McNabb and Ron Jaworski before him.
But what if Hurts beats the Washington Commanders on Sunday?
And what if Hurts can then beat either Kansas City or Buffalo and bring another title to the City of Brotherly Love?
How will we as fans view him if Hurts can pull off that magic act?
The game is in Hurts' hands on Sunday. He can rise to the occasion or he can fall short like McNabb did in three NFC Championship Games.
This is when a player can create a lasting legacy. Hurts can command the Birds to beat the Commanders.
After that, a Super Bowl victory is certainly possible.
