New Leaders Taking Over In Lower Bucks Co. Reorganizations

LOWER BUCKS COUNTY, PA — Communities in Lower Bucks County will reorganize their governments right after the new year, welcoming new members and appointing new leaders for 2026.

Depending on any party changes, some governments — council, supervisors, commissioners — will reappoint those who have held posts as president and vice president.

Bensalem Township will see its council flip to a Democratic majority after three Democrats were elected in the November general election to hold a 3-2 majority on the council.

These are the dates of the reorganization meetings in several towns in Lower Bucks County:

Bensalem Township

The township council will hold its reorganization meeting at 7 p.m. on Monday in the Council Chambers of the Bensalem Township Municipal Building at 2400 Byberry Road.

Bristol Borough

Most municipalities hold their reorganization meetings on the first Monday of the year. Click here to see the Bristol Borough Council meeting schedule

Bristol Township

Bristol Township will hold its annual reorganization meeting at 6 p.m. on Monday in the township council meeting chambers.

Falls Township

The Falls Township Board of Supervisors will hold its reorganization meeting at 5 p.m. Monday at 450 Lincoln Highway in Fairless Hills. Members of the public are permitted to attend the meeting in person.

Ivyland Borough

The Ivyland Borough Council reorganization meeting will take place at 6 p.m. on Monday. There will be a swearing-in of elected officials, the reorganization of council, and the naming of officers. The meeting will be livestreamed on YouTube and the borough's Facebook channel.

Lower Makefield Township

The Lower Makefield Township Board of Supervisors will hold its reorganization meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Monday at the township municipal complex.

Lower Southampton Township

The Lower Southampton Township Board of Supervisors will hold its reorganization meeting at 8 p.m. on Monday at the township building on 1500 Desire Avenue in Feasterville.

Middletown Township

The Middletown Township Board of Supervisors will hold its hybrid reorganization meeting at 7 p.m. on Monday at the Middletown Township Municipal Center, live on television (Comcast Channel 22 or Verizon Channel 30), on YouTube, or on the Township's website. Residents are also welcome to attend in person.

Warminster Township

The Warminster Township Board of Supervisors is holding its reorganization meeting at 5:30 p.m. instead of its usual 7 p.m. meeting. The meeting takes place at the administration building at 401 Gibson Ave. and can also be watched on the township's YouTube Channel.

Upper Southampton Township

The Upper Southampton Township Supervisors' reorganization is not on the township government's calendar. Click here for details.

Yardley Borough

The borough will hold its reorganization meeting at 7 p.m. on Monday in the council chambers at Borough Hall. A swearing-in ceremony will take place for new Mayor Caroline Thompson and new council members. The council will also name a president and vice president.
