Overnight Construction On Warminster SEPTA Line This Weekend

WARMINSTER, PA — Workers will be tackling an overnight construction project on the line that serves the Hatboro and Warminster communities on Friday and Saturday.

The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority announced that work is scheduled at the Hatboro train station from 10 p.m. Aug. 20 through 6 a.m. Aug. 21, and then again from 10 p.m. Aug. 21 through 6 a.m. Aug. 22.

The station will have track outages during those overnight hours on both Friday and Saturday so contractors can perform work related to a project to reconstruct and relocate the Hatboro substation, which services the Warminster Regional Rail Line, according to SEPTA.

During the overnight work, crews will likely be noisy, so neighbors are warned to expect loud sounds, lighting and other construction activities during those times of the night.
SEPTA says the goal of the $5.1 million public improvement project is to replace the major power components of the 80-plus-year-old substation and ensure power reliability for trains serving the entire rail line.

During the upcoming overnight work, crews will be mostly working within the footprint of the substation, so residents near that area can expect the sights and sounds of construction activity.
