Phillies Face Off Against Mets For First Time In Playoffs
It's time for the Philadelphia Phillies to take care of business. First place in the NL East was achieved and so was a first-round bye. Now the Phils take on the New York Mets in the playoffs for the first time ever. Hard to Believe, Harry! The Polar Bear connected to knock the Brew Crew out of the playoffs but they've never experienced the Rockin' Red at Citizens Bank Park. Look for Bryce Harper, Kyle Schwarber, and company to make sure that Liberty Bell is ringing with lots of dingers.
Bye A Goodbye To The Birds For Football Weekend
Thank God for the Phillies cuz we really need a break from the Philadelphia Eagles this weekend. The Birds hit the Bye Week at 2-2, not the record we expected from this team. But now the Eagles are more like Team Turmoil with Quarterback Jalen Hurts struggling with lots of turnovers and everyone on sports radio calling for Coach Nick Sirianni's head on a platter. To get clobbered by Baker Makefield and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is not the taste we wanted to have in our mouths for two weeks.
Phillies Will Stay On WIP Sports Radio For Future
There was a big announcement on Thursday. Audacy and the Philadelphia Phillies have announced a multi-year extension to their radio broadcast partnership. SportsRadio 94WIP (WIP-FM) will continue as the flagship station of the team, broadcasting all regular and postseason games, as well as select Spring Training games. All games will be heard on WIP-FM and streamed via the Audacy app. SportsRadio 94WIP will also continue to host regular broadcasts from the Deborah Heart and Lung Broadcast Booth inside Citizens Bank Park.
Flyers and Sixers Are Gearing Up For New Season
Here come the winter sports. While we get excited about baseball playoffs and more of the football season, the start of the new year for the Flyers and Sixers is sneaking up on us. The Sixers are trying to go all in once again with contract extensions for stars Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey and signing top free agent Paul George to hopefully get the team over the playoff hump. Training camp is opening for NBA teams now. Meanwhile, the hockey season starts up next week and The Fly Guys have a little more seasoning and depth that hopefully could push them into the playoffs.
