Philly Man Arrested In Warminster Motel Shooting

Police say he was the man who fired shots into a motel room shortly before 3 a.m. last Monday.

WARMINSTER, PA — Police in Warminster have arrested a man they say fired shots into a local motel room last week.

David Rodriguez, 42, of Philadelphia, was arrested by Philadelphia Police and turned over to officers in Warminster, authorities said Monday. He is charged with discharge of a firearm into an occupied structure, possession of a firearm by a felon, recklessly endangering another, assault and criminal mischief and more.

The charges are in connection with a shooting that happened around 3 a.m. on Monday, May 25, at the Motel 6 at 265 E. Street Rd.

Video surveillance showed a man get out of a car and approach an unoccupied hotel room.

He had a large caliber, semi-automatic pistol and, after knocking on the door and trying to get in, he fired at least two shots into the room, police said. The shots caused minor damage to the room and a neighboring room, which was occupied, they said.

No one was injured. The man then drove away.

Rodriguez was being held at Bucks County Correctional Facility on 10 percent of $500,000 bail.
