Philly Teen Arrested For Fake $100 Bills In Warminster

The 19-year-old's arrest is the latest in a rash of counterfeit money cases in Bucks County earlier this year.

WARMINSTER, PA — A 19-year-old from Philadelphia has been arrested on charges that he was one of the men who passed counterfeit $100 bills at Chick-fil-A in Warminster.

Kyair LaShawn Garnett, of Stanley Street in Philadelphia, was charged with two counts of felony forgery theft, theft by deception and other charges, police said Thursday.

He was arraigned and being held on 10 percent of $20,000 bail.

On January 2, police said, the men handed a cashier a real $100 bill at the Chick-fil-A on Street Road then, after it was verified, asked for it back and switched it with a counterfeit bill.

The incident was part of a rash of cases in which men were reported passing, or trying to pass, counterfeit $100 bills in Bucks County earlier this year. Cases were reported in Warminster, Lower Makefield, Morrisville, Newtown, Doylestown and Northampton.

In May, three Philadelphia men were arrested in Northampton Township for trying to pass fake $100 bills.
