WARMINSTER, PA — Police in Warminster are on the lookout for a man they say was impersonating an officer.

Warminster Township Police say an incident happened at about 9:45 p.m. on Sunday in the 700 block of Cotlar Avenue. Residents there said that a younger man, possibly in his teens, knocked on their door wearing a police-style uniform and hat, along with shoulder patches and badge.

He asked the residents about break-ins in the area, according to police. They told officers the man appeared to be looking around and writing on a notepad. He was not wearing a police belt or firearm and no marked police vehicle was seen, the residents said.

The man left without incident. No threats were made and no one was harmed.

Monday afternoon, police said they had identified a suspect in the case.

A review of security video showed another person hiding in the bushes by the door and a third person was seen on the street, police said. The video can be seen below.
