"It's a big decision," says Lynn, who has been part of the Ann's Choice team for more than 12 years. "But once people realize that Ann's Choice is a good financial fit for them, there's an immediate sense of relief."

Lynn brings decades of experience in hospitality management to her role. "I've always loved working with people," she says. "Senior living is especially rewarding because we have the opportunity to elevate the living experience for our residents."

Gordon, the newest member of the Ann's Choice sales team, has deep roots with Erickson Senior Living. "My grandmother lived at an Erickson community, my mom works for the company, and even my cat lived at one for a while!" she says, with a laugh.

She joined the community last year after working for Erickson Senior Living's marketing strategy team.

Crunching the numbers

With maintenance-free residences and an array of amenities and activities, it's no wonder so many retirees are drawn to Ann's Choice. That leaves one question for Lynn and Gordon: "Can I afford this?"

"That's where our expertise comes in," Lynn explains. "Our job is to help each prospective resident find the right home that makes sense for their finances."

The dynamic duo uses a conservative financial review process to ensure that each prospective resident's desired home will be a sustainable fit for the foreseeable future.

"We want to make sure the residence they reserve is financially viable for them for years to come," Gordon adds. "However, Ann's Choice does offer support, if needed."

Gordon is referring to the community's Home for Life promise.* No one ever expects to run out of money, but sometimes unforeseen issues arise that can quickly deplete your hard-earned savings and put you at risk.

"Ann's Choice has planned for life's uncertainties and is prepared to assist eligible residents who outlive their resources," explains Gordon. "No one will be asked to leave the community because of a genuine inability to pay."

Teamwork matters

To begin the financial review process, Lynn and Gordon request that prospective residents gather a list of important documents.

"We aim to make this part of the process as simple and digestible as possible," says Lynn.

Gordon adds, "We often remind prospective residents to focus on one thing at a time. Pretty soon, we're done, and they really get excited about their future home."

Lynn and Gordon make a strong team, and they benefit from the support of many other staff members throughout the move-in process.

"It takes a village," says Gordon. "Our financial review team will also give their stamp of approval, ensuring that a prospective resident's desired home is a sustainable fit from their perspective."

She continues, "Lisa Sicilia, the community's planning and moving consultant, can give advice on downsizing, and our preferred real estate agents and moving vendors are also available to provide support. We want prospective residents to feel comfortable and confident every step of the way."

Real relationships, real results

For Lynn and Gordon, numbers only tell part of the story. Gordon recalls a recent reservist who lived far from family and faced challenges completing paperwork and attending pre-reservation meetings without a car.

"Lisa personally drove to her house to help her collect documents," Gordon says. "We also set up a ride service so she could come to campus and sign her agreement. When her family came to see the community, they witnessed how excited she was and how much support she had from our team. Now, she's happily at home at Ann's Choice."

Lynn and Gordon agree that these success stories never get old.

"Meeting people where they are in the process and responding with empathy is a strength of the entire Ann's Choice sales team," Gordon notes, "and building strong relationships with prospective residents is truly special."

Lynn agrees. "Once people realize the financial side is sound, they can focus on all the fun they'll have at Ann's Choice."
