This weekend brings Fire & Frost to Bucks County along with several ways to celebrate the start of America's year-long birthday.

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — The second weekend of the New Year is bringing Fire & Frost to the Bucks County countryside along with several ways to kick-off the nation's 250th birthday celebration.
Peddler's Village will come alive with the sights and sounds of Fire and Frost this weekend and next weekend with lots of winter magic, including ice sculptures, fire artisry and a family-friendly Jack Frost-themed scavenger hunt.
Meanwhile, the Gather Place in Yardley and the Doylestown Historical Society will be offering special events this weekend in help kick off America 250.

Here are five ways you can enjoy the weekend ahead in Bucks County:
Dazzling Fire & Frost Festival To Warm Up Winter
The dazzling sights and sounds of Fire & Frost returns to Peddler's Village in Lahaska with four winter evenings of winter festival fun. Against the backdrop of a magical display of a million lights, the outdoor festival will feature dozens of ice sculptures, fire artistry performances, and a family-friendly Jack Frost-themed scavenger hunt, village officials have announced. The event will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, January 9, and Saturday, January 10, and again on Friday, January 16, and Saturday, January 17. Additionally, Peddler’s Village shops and boutiques will be offering special sales throughout the month of January. Admission and parking are free.

Gather Place Launching America 250 Celebration
Shirley Lee Corsey is ready to roll. After over a year of planning, Corsey is ready to launch the Gather Place Museum in Yardley as Bucks County's hub of activity for America's 250th anniversary celebration this year. The executive director is excited to kick off festivities as an America250PA Officially Recognized Program, also strengthened by a Bucks County Tourism Grant Program supporting the production and promotion of the museum's initiative of "America's Women Trailblazers."

Free Lecture Spotlights "The Essential Doylestonian"
The Doylestown Historical Society and the Friends of the Doylestown Library are partnering to present a free lecture, “General W.W.H. Davis: The Essential Doylestonian,” focusing on one of the town’s most influential historical figures. General W.W.H. Davis, a distinguished soldier, politician, antiquarian, and historian, is considered by many to be essential to understanding Doylestown. Animated Film, Meat Loaf Tribute At Newtown
With a rainy Saturday in the forecast, the historic Newtown Theatre is offering a warm and dry escape from the outside elements with the showing of an animated film and a Meat Loaf tribute show. The theatre will be presenting two events on Saturday including the showing of the animated film, "Spirited Away," from 10 a.m. to noon and a performance by "All Revved Up: The Ultimate Meat Loaf Tribute Band" from 8 to 10 p.m. Click the headline for complete details.

Second Sunday Offers Free Admission At Michener
The Michener Art Museum in Doylestown is offering free admission for all visitors on Sunday, January 11 from 12 to 5 p.m., including access to the museum's special exhibitions. Free admission is part of Second Sundays, a great day to bring the family to the museum with special programming for kids. Docents are available in the galleries for family-focused tours, and Unplugged Family Day, a free hands-on art-making workshop for families, runs from 1 to 2 p.m. and from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday’s Unplugged Family Day theme is “Cozy Canines.” Preregistration is recommended. This will be the last weekend to see "Interwoven," a museum exhibit by Pakistani-American visual artist Anila Quayyum. Agha's work prompts collective feelings of wonder and contemplation, disarming audiences with their splendor. Museum admission for children ages 5 and under is always free.
