The outdoor event with something for everyone will take place in the Warminster Community Park on Sep. 11. Read on for details.

WARMINSTER, PA — For pet adoption, face painting, car awards, motorcycles for kids, and the Bucks County Cornhole Tournament all rolled into one, look no further than Warminster’s own Arts and Barks Fest & Car Show.

The annual event will have more than 100 craft vendors this year, as well as food trucks, car showings, and lots of puppies to meet and greet. Amanda Gershanick, the event’s organizer and the Nutrition Services Coordinator and Community Service Liaison for the Ben Wilson Senior Activities Center, first came up with the idea a few years ago.

“I love rescue dogs,” she said. “It’s a huge problem — there are a lot of animals that need to be rescued.”

Gershanick’s festival concept brings together community engagement and family fun with support for animals in need. And when she realized how much people missed car shows in Warminster, “Arts and Barks” became a chance for people to show off their vehicles, be judged, and win prizes.

She’s also excited to welcome Blue Comet Motorcycle Club, who orient their passion toward family fun by bringing along little motorcycles for kids to sit on.

“They’re super great people — they’re putting up a whole kids’ display,” she said.

Families are welcome to bring leashed animals, and there is still time to register a car. The entry fee for a car in the show is $20, and judging will be provided by Movin’ On Kruzers. Entrants are also up for the People’s Choice Award, which Gershanick said is always a crowd favorite.

To commemorate the event, trophies for award winners will be adorned with dogs.

This year, the event received more sponsors than ever. These include: T-Mobile, Independence, Fred Beans Subaru, The Landing of Southampton, TruMark Financial Credit Union, Homewatch CareGivers, Edge, Cigna, Delaware Valley Brokerage Services, American Family Care, the Insurance Shops, and PECO.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Ben Wilson Senior Activity Center and Wags Animal Rescue.
