$14.7M PennDOT Project Next Week In Chester County

Road crews will be out resurfacing 37 miles of highways.

CHESTER COUNTY, PA— PennDOT announced today that construction will begin next week on a $14.7 million project to repair and resurface 37 miles of state highway in Chester County.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. The schedule is weather dependent.

  • Route 10 (Limestone Road) between Route 472 (Market Street) and Route 41 (Gap Newport Pike) in Oxford Borough and Lower Oxford, Upper Oxford, and West Fallowfield townships;
  • Route 10 (Octorara Trail/Compass Road) between U.S. 30 (Lincoln Highway) and Beaver Dam Road in West Sadsbury, Sadsbury, West Caln, and Honey Brook townships;
  • Route 23 (Nutt Road) between Route 113 (Kimberton Road) and Route 29 (Main Street/Manavon Street) in Phoenixville;
  • Route 29 (Morehall Road) between U.S. 30 (Lancaster Avenue) and Phoenixville Pike in East Whiteland and Charlestown townships;
  • Route 340 (West Kings Highway) between the Lancaster County line and Compass Road in West Caln Township;
  • Route 796 (Jennersville Road) between Route 896 (Newark Road) and Route 41 (Gap Newport Pike) in New London, Penn, and Londonderry townships;
  • New Street between Route 724 (Schuylkill Road) and Main Street, Main Street between New Street and Bridge Street, and Bridge Street between Main Street and the Montgomery County line in East Vincent Township and Spring City Borough;
  • Wagontown Road between Manor Road and the West Caln Township line in Valley Township;
  • Caln Road/Reeceville Road between Business U.S. 30 (Lincoln Highway) and Fisherville Road in Caln Township;
  • Harmonyville Road between the Berks County line and Route 345 (Pine Swamp Road) in Warwick Township;
  • Harmonyville Road between two Harmonyville Road bridges over Pine Creek (Bridge key 47319 and Bridge key 42830) in Warwick Township;
  • Creek Road between Lewis Mill Road and Route 82 (Manor Road) in West Nantmeal Township; and
  • Eastbound 422 ramp to Swedesford Road between the Old Eagle School Road overpass and Swedesford Road in Tredyffrin Township.

Under this improvement project, PennDOT is milling the existing roadway surface and repaving the state highways with new asphalt.

The new pavement will seal the roadways and provide motorists with a smoother riding surface.

Allan Myers of Worcester, Montgomery County, is the general contractor on this project, which is financed with 100 percent state funds.
