Contractor H&K Group, Inc., Skippack, Montgomery County is replacing the 59-year-old, 193-foot three-span Boot Road bridge with a 105-foot single-span structure.

The bridge width will remain 38 feet, while improvements will be made on roads to the bridge. Upgrades include resurfacing, stormwater management, and guide rail installation.

As part of the project, the road will be raised slightly to provide additional clearance to Amtrak’s facilities. A system used to supply electricity to the railroad will be placed under the bridge.

To enhance traffic flow and safety, improvements will be also made at the adjacent Boot Road and Quarry Road intersections.

The project includes widening the roadway to incorporate left-turn lanes on three legs of the intersection, installing modernized traffic signals, and making drainage improvements.

All scheduled work is weather dependant.
