Lawmaker Chris Pielli Runs For Second Term Representing House D-156
Pielli is seeking a second term to represent West Chester, East Bradford, and West and East Goshen townships.

WEST CHESTER, PA —State Rep.Chris Pielli Thursday announced his candidacy for re-election for a second two-year term representing four municipalities in Chester County.
Pielli, a Democrat, represents District 156, which consists of West Chester, and East Bradford, East and West Goshen townships. The district covers 37 square miles and has a population of 66,169.
“Serving as your state representative for PA 156 is one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life,” Pielli said. “When I first ran, I promised that I would give everything I could for every constituent in my district, regardless of political affiliation. It was a promise I made and a promise I’m keeping every day.”

After the 2022 election, for the first time in 12 years, Democrats controlled the House with a one-seat majority.
Despite many partisan roadblocks, Pielli said he and the other Democrats were able to pass over 200 bills including increased childcare tax credits, sensible gun safety laws, more investments in public education and student mental health, universal free breakfast for all K12 students, and expanded the property tax/rent rebate program.

In addition, Pielli said, nearly $900 million was added to a rainy day fund showing that Democrats can deliver on key priorities while remaining fiscally responsible and produce a balanced budget.
Pielli introduced four bills in his freshman year that passed the House with overwhelming bipartisan support including HB 1278 renewing and amending the Wiretap Act, which was recently signed into law by Governor Shapiro.
Pielli said there is much more work to be done.
“I will continue to fight to give us a living wage, protect our environment, guarantee our
voting rights, protect reproductive choice, support our local economy, enforce our PA Constitutional duty to provide fair funding for our children’s education, and ensure a citizen’s right to equal protection under the law no matter their race, gender, age, sexual orientation, social class, or religion, Pielli said.
Pielli said a government that doesn’t work for everyone, inevitably, will not work for anyone.
“Every election is about choices.,” he said. “ The 2024 election will determine what kind of country and Commonwealth we choose for future generations.”
Pielli resides in West Goshen Township with his wife. They have two children. Pielli was elected Recorder of Deeds in November 2019.
He is a graduate of East Senior High School; Temple University, bachelor of science in political science; and Temple University Beasley School of Law, Juris Doctorate.
Pielli, a U.S. Army veteran, worked as a correctional officer and counselor. He is an attorney licensed in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.
