Lincoln University March To Harrisburg Starts Friday, Nov. 10
Students plan to March to Harrisburg to encourage lawmakers to pass a budget to fund the university.
LOWER OXFORD, PA — Lincoln University students plan to walk from the university in Chester County for 66 miles to the state Capitol to ask lawmakers to pass a $640 million budget for the state’s four state-related universities.
The Lincoln students will kick off the march at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 10, at the Alumni Memorial Arch on Lincoln’s main campus at 1570 Baltimore Pike, Lincoln University.
The proposed budget calls for funding for Lincoln University, Pennsylvania State University, the University of Pittsburgh, and Temple University. Lincoln University is requesting $19 million.

The march will conclude at 3 p.m. Monday, Nov. 13 at Pennsylvania State Capitol Building in Harrisburg. Donations for the march are being accepted for the “Student Success Fund” here.
