New Chester County Judges And Officials Are Sworn In
The five new judges constitute the highest number of judges sworn in at once since 1791.
WEST CHESTER, PA —Five new judges, county commissioners and row officers were sworn into office on Friday and Saturday in the Chester County Justice Center.
Five new judges took the oath of office on Friday to serve 10-year terms with an annual salary of $197,119.
President Judge Hall said during the ceremony that the addition to the Chester County bench of the five newly-elected judges constitutes the largest number of judges added at one time to the court since it was created in 1791.

They are Sarah Black, Nicole Forzato, Fredda Maddox, Thomas “Tip” McCabe, and Deb Ryan.
Hall and Judge Patrick Carmody took the oath of office to serve a 10-year term after being retained.

During a ceremony on Saturday, three county commissioners, the new district attorney, sheriff, recorder of deeds, register of wills, and a district judge were also sworn in.
Chester County’s new board of commissioners consists of Democrats Josh Maxwell and Marian Moskowitz and Republican Eric Roe.
Christopher de Barrena-Sarobe was sworn in as district attorney, and Kevin Dykes was sworn in as the new sheriff.
Michele Vaughn begins her second term as register of wills, and Diane O’Dwyer begins her term as the recorder of deeds after previously serving as acting recorder.
Tim Arndt was sworn in as district judge for the Honey Brook District Court. Debbie Bookman, who was unable to attend the ceremonial swearing-in event, begins her second term as the prothonotary for Chester County.
