New Theatre Program In West Chester Presents Humorous Christmas Story

The new theatre program opens at Uptown Knauer Performing Art Center in West Chester.

WEST CHESTER, PA —Uptown Knauer Performing Arts Center presents the much-anticipated new stage program debut under new Artistic Director Carmen Kahn.

Holiday theatre goers will be treated to the funny and highly imaginative retelling of the Christmas story and the Nativity.

"The Butterfingers Angel, Mary & Joseph, Herod the Nut, & the Slaughter of 12 Hit Carols in a Pear Tree" is running through Dec. 23.

“This is the story of Mary and Joseph and the Nativity,” Khan said. “It defies the traditional telling of the story by creating a rich tapestry of characters and moods that are fresh and creative."

Khan noted that the ‘Butterfingers Angel’ is filled with Christmas songs and entertainment, but the reverence, joy, and true significance of the occasion are never lost.

The play was written by Tony Award-winning playwright and novelist William Gibson.

Domenick Scudera directs this hilarious and joyful play that is perfect for a night on the town and family gatherings.

The show is to entertain audiences of all ages.
