Police Log: Chesco Arrests For Drunken Driving And Weapon Offenses

Police arrest suspects on drunken driving, texting while driving and more in January.

CHESTER COUNTY —Police arrested suspects in January on charges of drunken driving, prohibited text-based communications, and weapon offenses.

  • Jonathan Barrera, 18, of Parkesburg, is free on $20,000 bail on charges of carrying a firearm with a license and related charges. Police said Barrera had a loaded weapon on his waist during a traffic stop in the unit block of First Avenue on Jan. 26.
  • Abdulkadir Salah, 42, of Philadelphia, is free on nominal bail awaiting a preliminary hearing on charges of drunken driving and driving without headlights on Jan. 19 when he was stopped by police in the 700 block of East Market Street, West Chester.
  • Miranda Reilly, 25, of Kennett Square was arrested on charges of drunken driving, prohibited text-based communications, and related offenses. Police said Reilly had a blood alcohol content of 0.159 when her vehicle overturned in an accident in the 300 block of State Street, Kennett Square.
  • Shanan Rykard-Freeman, 28, of New Castle, Del., was arrested on Jan. 21 on a charge of drunken driving after being in an accident at the intersection of East Gay and North Matlack streets. He is free awaiting court action.
