Rite Aid Expands No-Charge COVID-19 Testing

Rite Aid pharmacies have expanded COVID-19 testing at sites in Chester County and elsewhere.

CHESTER COUNTY, PA — Rite Aid pharmacies today said the company is opening 317 additional no-charge COVID-19 drive-through testing sites across Greater Philadelphia and parts of New Jersey, including in Chester County, beginning Feb. 5.

Testing is available for all individuals 4 years of age or older, regardless of whether a person is experiencing virus symptoms.

"This reduction in eligibility age comes at an important time to help families get tested and stay safe as schools reopen and more extracurricular activities resume," a Rite Aid spokesperson said.

Rite Aid has been partnering with the Department of Health and Human Services for months but will now expand its reach. The testing sites use self-swab nasal tests overseen by Rite Aid pharmacists and will operate through the chain's drive-through window to ensure the safety of customers seeking other services in-store, according to a news release from Rite Aid.

Testing hours are Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., according to Rite Aid's news release.
