Safety Improvements Continue Monday on U.S. 322 (West Chester Bypass)
A $3.5 million tree-clearing project in West Goshen and East Bradford townships is expected to be complete in the winter of 2023.

CHESTER COUNTY, PA— PennDOT announced Thursday that tree-clearing operations will begin Monday on a $3.5 million project to improve travel and safety along a 2.87-mile section of U.S. 322 in East Bradford and West Goshen townships, Chester County.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:
- Monday, April 10, through Friday, April 14, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., a lane closure is scheduled on Route 322 in both directions between Route 322 and Route 202.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

Under this safety improvement project, PennDOT’s contractor will narrow the travel lanes; extend the acceleration lanes; replace and install traffic signals; construct shoulders to accommodate bicycles; and install center line rumble strips; replace guide rails; and wrong way countermeasures throughout the project corridor.
The improvements begin at the intersection of Downingtown Pike and the West Chester Bypass and continue east to the intersection with the U.S. 202 interchange.

The intersections included in this project are North New Street, Route 100, Penn Drive, Phoenixville Pike, and U.S. 202.
The project aims to improve the safe and efficient movement of motorists and bicyclists on the U.S. 322 corridor.
Allan Myers of Worcester, Montgomery County, is the general contractor on the project, which is financed with 100% federal funds.
Construction on the project is expected to be completed in the winter of 2023.
