Shane Montgomery's Body Found
The Garden State Underwater Recovery Unit found Montgomery's body Saturday in the Schuylkill River in Manayunk.

The body of a West Chester University student who had been missing since Thanksgiving was found Saturday in the Schuylkill River in Manayunk.
Shane Montgomery, 21, disappeared in the early morning hours on Nov. 27 after meeting friends at Kildare’s Pub on Thanksgiving Eve. The Garden State Underwater Recovery Unit found Montgomery’s body in the water behind the Manayunk Brew Pub near Shurs Lane and Main Street, the Philadelphia Inquirer reported.

“Today we have done what we promised. We found and brought Shane home,” Montgomery’s family said on the Help find Shane Montgomery Facebook page.
The family thanked numerous searches and community organizations, including the Garden State Underwater Recovery Unit, Philadelphia Marine Unit, Northwest Detectives, the Philadelphia Police Department, Saint John the Baptist as well as the brew pub and their employees.

“We want to thank everyone for their support, prayers, and love and ask that they continue to pray for our family at this trying time. At this time we ask that you please respect our privacy. We need time to mourn together as a family,” the family’s post said.
Last month, The Garden State Underwater Recovery Unit found his keys at the edge of the Schuylkill River, near where he was last seen on surveillance video.
