West Chester Borough Hires New Police Chief

Lt. Joshua Lee, a 20-year veteran in the borough's department, is named chief.

WEST CHESTER —West Chester Mayor Lillian DeBaptiste named Lt. Joshua Lee as the next police chief of the borough, which has 44 police officers and 15 staffers.
Lee, a 24-year veteran, will replace Chief James Morehead who is retiring on Jan. 12 after 23 years in the department.

Lt. Lee has held the ranks of patrol officer, corporal, Sergeant, and lieutenant.
The department has 44 officers and 15 additional staff members.

Lee was hired by West Chester Police in 2000. He graduated from the University of Delaware and the Delaware County Community College Police Academy. He served as an administrative liaison to the West Chester Regional Emergency Response Team.

Lee volunteers as a mentor at the Charles Melton Community Center and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Chester County Crime Victims’ Center.

Lee attended The FBI Academy, in Quantico, VA, with officers from all 50 states and six continents.
