Officials say rising costs for police, fire, and public works drove the proposal, and must now quickly craft a new budget before year’s end.
   

• Data Breaches Announced by Morton Drug Company & Physicians to Children & Adolescents (hipaajournal.com) — Patients of the Center for Urologic Care of Berks County in Wyomissing are being notified that a recent cybersecurity breach exposed sensitive medical and personal information for 543 individuals, including Social Security numbers and test results. The incident, detected in October, involved unauthorized access to the practice’s network, and affected patients are being offered free credit monitoring while the center strengthens its security systems.
   

• Wyomissing girls' basketball is continuing to grow as a team (wfmz.com) — Wyomissing’s girls’ basketball team is rebuilding after graduating a highly successful senior class that powered three straight District 3 titles. This year’s largely inexperienced roster is still chasing its first win, while new senior leaders work to stay positive and establish their own identity on the varsity stage.
