9/11 25th Remembrance Committee Forming In Lower Makefield
The Garden of Reflection, Pennsylvania's memorial to the Sept. 11 attacks on America, is located in Lower Makefield Township.

LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA — While the anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks on America has passed, the township is gearing up for a special year in 2026.
The township is seeking "passionate and dedicated" residents to serve on its 9/11 25th Remembrance Committee.
Officials said the committee will play a key role in planning and organizing the township’s events commemorating the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11th attacks.

Lower Makefield is home to The Garden of Reflection, the official memorial to the Pennsylvania victims.
Those include Victor Saracini, who was killed when United Airlines flight 175 he piloted was highjacked and flown into the World Trade Center. His wife, Ellen, works tirelessly year-round on an annual 5K and other events to raise money to support the memorial.

A ceremony was held at The Garden of Reflection last month to honor the Sept. 11 victims.
Eighteen residents from Bucks County — including nine from Lower Makefield Township — were among those killed during the attacks, representing the highest number of casualties of any municipality in Pennsylvania.
The Garden is a physical reminder of the more than 2,900 lives lost, including those from Bucks County.

- William H. Kelly Jr., Lower Makefield
- Joseph Lostrangio, Langhorne
- Louis Nacke, New Hope
- Joshua Reiss, Lower Makefield
- John M. Rodak, Southampton
- Victor Saracini, Yardley
- Larry Senko, Lower Makefield
- Barbara A. Shaw, Bensalem
- William Steiner, Solebury
- Sandra Wright, Langhorne
