Carlson and Stump provided some stability on the seven-member board, which saw some turnover over the past few years.
The 33-year-old Stump served two years on the Yardley Borough Council. Carlson, a long-time planning board member, filled a vacancy in September 2022.
With the two departing and Thompson becoming mayor, the Borough Council will once again undergo significant change.
Democratic newcomers Martha Howlett, Jason Goldstein, and Paul Mencel will be sworn in at the reorganization meeting along with Thompson as mayor. Meanwhile, the board will need to elect a council president and vice president at the meeting.
The Borough Council is rounded out by David Appelbaum, Kim Segal-Morris, and Michelle Sharer.
