Reports say someone poured lots of soap, possibly dish detergent, into the fountains honoring those lost in the attacks.
LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA — Just days before the nation pauses to remember the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, crews were working Tuesday to repair damage to Pennsylvania's official memorial to victims of the attacks.
Lower Makefield Township officials said Tuesday that fountains at the Garden of Reflection 9/11 Memorial were not running due to vandalism that happened overnight.
"We are working diligently to have them in working order this afternoon," township officials said in a social media post. "Thank you for your patience."

Police and parks and recreation officials were not able to be immediately reached Tuesday afternoon for details on the vandalism. 6abc Action News was reporting that someone poured a large amount of soap, possibly dish detergent, into the fountain.
Located at 1950 Woodside Rd., the site was dedicated in 2006, on the fifth anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 terror attacks. It was built, in part, with a $750,000 federal grant secured by the late U.S. Rep Mike Fitzpatrick.
