Dog In Distress Rescued In Lower Makefield
Lower Makefield Police have charged a Morrisville man for leaving the dog alone in a vehicle in extreme heat.
LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA — A Morrisville man has been charged with animal neglect for leaving his dog in a car in extreme heat, police said.
The Lower Makefield Township Police Department responded to the Shop Rite in the 1600 block of Big Oak Road at 4:22 p.m. On July 27 for the report of a dog in distress.
Police said the dog was left in a vehicle in the parking lot with the engine off and the windows almost completely up in 92-degree weather.

Police gained entry into the vehicle and found the dog to be very warm to the touch and panting heavily. It was determined that the dog was left alone for at least 25 minutes.
The dog was removed from the vehicle and provided with water, police said.

The 27-year-old Morrisville man will be cited for the neglect of an animal, police said.
