Flash Flood Warning Issued In Lower Bucks County

The National Weather Service at Mount Holly said that flash flooding may happen due to rain accumulations on Wednesday.

LOWER BUCKS COUNTY, PA — A flash flood warning has been issued for Lower Bucks County due to rain accumulations on Wednesday.

The National Weather Service at Mount Holly said the flash flood warning will remain in effect until 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday for southeastern Bucks County.

The Weather Service said that automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the Philadelphia region.

Between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain have fallen within the last 24 hours, with 1 and 2 inches in the past three hours.

An expected rainfall rate of 0.25 to 0.5 inches is expected in the next hour, the weather service reported as of 1:45 p.m. Wednesday.

Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. That flooding could impact small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses as well as other drainage and low-lying areas.

Some locations that may experience flash flooding include: Philadelphia, Trenton, Bensalem, Evesham, Mount Laurel, Ewing, Willingboro, Lumberton, Florence, Burlington, Bristol. and Mount
Holly.

According to the National Weather, the Delaware River at Trenton is at 12.9 feet and could rise to 13.8 feet by noon Thursday. The flood stage is 20 feet, and the action level is 17 feet.
