YARDLEY, PA —While this year's Harvest Day is now in the rearview mirror, plans are already starting for the 55th annual September celebration.

And that starts with the date.

Harvest Day Co-Chairman Rich Wayne had recently appeared before Borough Council seeking a date for 2023.

He suggested Sept. 23, which was approved unanimously by the council.

Wayne said he was amazed by the crowds this past year. See Patch photos from event.

"It was the biggest attendance ever," Wayne told Patch Tuesday afternoon. "We were worrying if we had too many food vendors but several sold out."

The food selection was one of the event's expanded features this year too, Wayne said.

One council member's daughter compared the annual event to be close to Christmas.

Wayne said he will take a break until January. He said the Harvest Day committee will then gather and decide if committee members want to continue next year.

A vote will also be taken to decide which organizations should receive proceeds from the festival.
