Morrisville Borough Mourns Retired Police Officer
Morrisville Police Chief Rich Ciampa announced the recent passing of retired Police Officer Rosario "Ross" DaLessio.
MORRISVILLE, PA — Morrisville Borough is mourning the loss of a police officer who gave nearly 43 years of service to the community.
Morrisville Borough Police Chief Rich Ciampa announced with "deep sorrow" the passing of retired Police Officer Rosario “Ross” DaLessio.
Officer DaLessio dedicated nearly 43 years to the Morrisville Police Department, starting his distinguished career as a part-time police officer in 1981, the chief said.

"After demonstrating exceptional skill and commitment", he was promoted to full-time in 1988, serving in various capacities until his well-earned retirement in March 2024.
During his tenure, DaLessio worked in patrol, where he answered calls and ensured community safety; in investigations, where he adeptly handled cases that required keen insight and resolve; and in his role as the Motor Carrier Officer, where he monitored commercial-vehicle compliance with safety regulations.

"His exemplary dedication to duty, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to public service made a significant impact on the community he served," the chief said. "Officer DaLessio inspired countless individuals across multiple generations with his integrity, compassion, and approachability, earning the respect and admiration of both colleagues and residents."
The police department extended its condolences to DaLessio’s family, friends, and all those who had worked with him.
"His legacy of service will forever be remembered, and he will be deeply missed," the chief said. "Rest in peace, sir."
