New Yardley Daycare Center Opens For Enrollment
A Lightbridge Academy location, Pennsylvania's 10th, is under construction and open for enrollment in Yardley.

YARDLEY, PA — Lightbridge Academy has opened its 10th Pennsylvania location: a Bucks County daycare center in Yardley. The daycare center anticipates capacity of between 160 and 165 children, and will provide an estimated 35 jobs to community members.
Children from the age of six weeks through pre-K are eligible for Lightbridge’s care. The center will also be hiring in both full-time and part-time positions for assistant teachers, lead teachers, center directors, and assistant directors.
“It’s a great opportunity for anyone who wants to enter childcare, or even somebody who just loves children and loves being a caretaker,” Joanne Sofia, the Chief Operating Officer, said.

As a company-owned location, rather than a franchise-owned one, the Yardley daycare will be able to guarantee its full-time employees “a plethora of benefits” including health, vision, dental, 401K payments, paid time off, paid training, and a Child Development Associate (CDA) program.
“We feel strongly that when we enter a market, we do so much good in that community,” Sofia said.

She said that Pennsylvania is a “growing market” in childcare. She attributes Lightbridge Academy’s expansion in part to commitment to their company values, as well as state-of-the-art health and safety initiatives. The center aims to be “an extension of your very own family and a true partner in your child’s early education and development,” according to their website.
Sofia said the company’s decisions — including hiring — are rooted in their core values: an acronym spelling out CHILDREN which includes “care deeply,” “lead by example,” and “nurture.” She also puts the Lightbridge Foundation, a fund from events the daycare centers put on to generate money for Lightbridge families with need, at the center of their mission.
“The foundation can support anybody that has a major health crisis or a family crisis,” she said. “It’s a way for us to give back, in a way that’s very much aligned with our core values.”
Sofia said health and safety was a main priority even prior to the pandemic: now, centers have increased cleaning and sanitization processes as well as a hospital-grade air purification system.
“We want to be sure that you have that trust, that we’re taking care of your child,” Sofia explained.
For an advanced layer of trust, parents of children at Lightbridge centers can keep an eye on their kids through ParentView® Internet Monitoring, a streaming video service over a secure, password-protected connection.
The center is enrolling now in its infant, toddler, preschool, and pre-K programs. While Sofia could not quote prices for the Yardley daycare center, she said families are typically provided with an estimated range.
