Obituary: Anna May Civensky, 82
Anna May Civensky was a Pennsbury High School graduate. She died Nov. 2 at the age of 82.

Anna May Civensky age 82, passed away peacefully at home Saturday morning November 2, surrounded by family.
Born on November 3, 1936 Ann resided in Cedar Glen West, Manchester Twp. Ocean County for the past several decades. Before moving to Ocean County, Ann raised her family of 4 daughters at 1403 Richmond Avenue in Hamilton Township, Mercer County, NJ. Originally, she was from Bucks County PA, residing in the Fallsington, Lower Makefield and the Pennsbury areas throughout her childhood. She is predeceased by her father Elmer (Burt) T. Leffever and her mother Anna Laura Britton Leffever, as well as her sister Mary Louise Carlton and her brother Robert Leffever.

Ann was married to Norman John Civensky (1936-1973) in 1959 at Holy Cross Church, Adeline St., Trenton. Norman was the son of the late John Civensky and Helen Matyjasik Civensky.
Ann graduated from Pennsbury High School (1954) and was employed in various secretarial positions in the Trenton area. Later she also worked for A1 Temporary Agency, Quakerbridge Rd., and then The Lewis Thomas Labs at Princeton University.

In her retirement, Ann very much enjoyed the seashore community lifestyle. Her lifelong hobbies included crafting, sewing & wallpapering, gardening, genealogy, socializing, eating out, music, Atlantic City, the seashore and the beach, bird watching, shopping, current events & popular culture, movies & television, game shows, antiques and reading non-fiction. One of her all time favorite topics to follow, read about and discuss was the Kennedy Family. She was also passionate about Bucks County history, continuing to follow local news, genealogy and social media in her later years to keep in touch with changes and happenings. Ann loved to recount Lower Makefield history and stories of her childhood there. She continued to use her laptop, tablet and Tracfone to keep in touch with her family, friends, news and social media. Family names in her genealogy include: Tomlinson, Britton, Bougher, Swasay, Stout and Wert.
Ann is survived by her four daughters and her grandchildren: Valerie and Andrew Vanisko of Plainsboro, NJ and their children Heather and Andrew; Laura and Kurt Gruninger of Yardville, NJ and their children Ivy and Kurt; Amy and Shawn Ambrose of Brick, NJ and their children Ian and Chloe, and by Helen Civensky of Manchester, NJ and her daughter Lily. Ann is also predeceased by William H. Davies, a close friend who died in 1995.
Ann remained very independent, practical, and self-sufficient while experiencing serious illnesses this past year, living at home. She was committed toward her health and maintained her sense of humor, personality and courageous, positive outlook throughout. She was truly grateful for the care, expertise and dedication of the medical staff who assisted her and constantly expressed her appreciation to her family and friends for their presence and love.
