Paving On Big Oak Road Starts Wednesday

Weekday lane closures are scheduled between now and Oct. 2 while the work on Big Oak Road is done.

LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA — Milling and paving work on Big Oak Road began on Wednesday, with a goal of having the work finished before winter.

PennDOT announced lane closures on Big Oak between Oxford Valley Road and Trenton Avenue for Wednesday through Friday, Oct. 2. The closures will be from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on week days.

State Rep. Perry Warren, whose district includes Lower Makefield and parts of Morrisville, said residents contact his office about Big Oak Road more than any other in his district — which also include Yardley and Newtown.

"We have been working with PennDOT since our ride around the district in 2017 to prioritize the paving of Big Oak Road, which is a thoroughfare for residents throughout our communities," Warren said in a social media post. "PennDOT listened, and moved the repaving project up to 2020."
