Pennsbury Doubles Team Places High In State
The two sophomores made a strong run despite playing doubles together for the first time.
A pair of sophomores from Pennsbury High School made a deep run at the PIAA Girls Tennis Doubles state championships last weekend in Hershey.
Pennsbury's No. 1 and No. 2 players, Megan Walsh and Kyra Workman, placed fourth at the championships. Playing doubles together for the first time, the pair entered regionals as a No. 5 seed, defeating fourth-ranked Henderson to make it into the top four.
At states, they defeated two tough squads to again make the final four before dropping their final two matches, which both were closely contested and went to three sets.
