The event will raise money to fund free baseball camps for children throughout the Philadelphia area.
Each participating golf foursome will have the unique opportunity to be paired with a former Phillies player or coach, Phillies announcer, or other Philadelphia sports personality.
The round of golf will be followed by cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, live and silent auctions, and an awards ceremony, including a lively question-and-answer period led by Murphy at the country club on 1010 Reading Ave.
The non-profit Richie Ashburn-Harry Kalas Foundation offers free baseball camps for children in the Philadelphia area. Using the game as a teaching tool, the camps also touch on the more important lessons in life, such as sportsmanship, drug and alcohol awareness, and the value of a good education.
