YARDLEY, PA — Pita Chip, a Philadelphia-based Middle Eastern restaurant, will host a food truck pop-up for charity to preview their upcoming location in Yardley on Friday, March 4.

The pop-up will be held from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. in front of the chain's upcoming location on 1623 Big Oak Road. Falafel and chicken shawarma pita wraps will be the main staple of the event.

Customers can pay what they want for their food at the event. The money raised will benefit the Kisses for Kyle Foundation, which offers a variety of services to families fighting childhood cancer in the Delaware Valley.

Pita Chip co-founder Omar Alsaadi wants to hold the pop-up food truck to introduce Bucks County to his food and to help a local charity organization.

“We’re so excited to expand into the suburbs, and this is a way of giving the community a preview of what they should expect once we’re up and running,” said Alsaadi. “We’re borrowing a friend’s food truck, and we’ll be in front of the new shop giving out as many falafel and chicken shawarma wraps as we can produce, and we’re thrilled to raise funds for a fantastic local cause in the process.”

The quick-serve restaurant was founded in 2015 by Alsaadi and Mouhanad Kabbani, who opened the first location on 1600 North Broad Street at Temple University. The second Temple location was opened in 2018 on 3601 Market Street, following three years of successful business at the first location.

“Omar and his team are so generous to include Kisses for Kyle in this initiative,” said the Kisses for Kyle Foundation’s founder Sharon Snyder.

“We’re very excited to see them open in Yardley, as we couldn’t be more grateful and supportive to those who are supportive of us and give back to the Bucks County community. Before they even open, Mr. Alsaadi has already proven that he will be bringing a lot more than just delicious Middle Eastern cuisine to Yardley.”
