Plastic Bag Ban Presentation Coming To Lower Makefield
Lower Makefield Township may consider joining other towns throughout the Philadelphia region to ban single plastic ban usage.

LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA — The township may be considering the single plastic bag ban movement.
Lower Makefield Township will investigate whether to join communities throughout the Philadelphia region that have banned single-use plastic bags, including several in Bucks County.
Five Bucks County municipalities have banned plastic bag usage since 2022.

They are: Solebury Township, Doylestown Borough, Doylestown Township, Newtown Borough, and Newtown Township.
- Solebury Township: Was the first to ban single-use plastic bags in 2022.
- Doylestown Borough: Passed a ban in 2023.
- Newtown Township: Implemented a ban in April 2024.
- Newtown Borough: Implemented a ban in September 2024.
- Doylestown Township: Passed an ordinance that went into effect in November 2024.
Lower Makefield Township's Environmental Advisory Council, along with PennEnvironment's Zero Waste Program, will hold the free presentation on plastic bags and their harmful pollution.

The presentation will include the harms posed and what can be done to address the problem.
The presentation takes place from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8, at the Lower Makefield Township Building, 1100 Edgewood Rd.
