Roads, 1 School Closed In Yardley Area After Storms
Hundreds of people in and around Yardley remained without power Friday morning after storms rolled through the area overnight.
YARDLEY, PA — Power outages and road closures hit the Yardley area overnight, as heavy storms that brought a tornado warning rolled through the area.
In the overnight hours, Yardley Borough Police were discouraging drivers from any unnecessary travel as road closures mounted. Yardley Borough Hall was closed Monday morning and, according to PECO's outage map, hundreds of people in and around Yardley remained without power Friday morning.

Eleanor Roosevelt Elementary School, in Morrisville, was closed Friday after the storms, though other schools in the Pennsbury School District reported as normal.
Among the overnight road closures was S. Delaware Avenue at Letchworth Avenue, where borough officials said at about 2 a.m. that there was a downed tree and broken pole.

At about midnight, borough officials announced on social media that there was a tornado warning in the area.
