Trooper Killed In I-95 Crash Was From Bucks County

Trooper Martin F. Mack III, 33, was killed in an early morning car crash along with Trooper Branden T. Sisca, 29, and a civilian.

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — One of the two troopers killed in the Monday morning car crash on I-95 in Philadelphia was a Bucks County resident.

Martin F. Mack III, 33, of Bristol Borough, was killed after being struck by a speeding car on I-95 near the Philadephia sports complexes, along with Trooper Branden T. Sisca, 29, of Montgomery County, and a civilian, who they were taking back to their vehicle at the time of the incident.

According to an earlier article about the crash, both troopers were responding to a call for a person walking along Interstate 95 south, just before the Philadelphia sports complexes, early Monday morning. Mack and Sisca located the man at about 12:45 a.m. and got out of their vehicle.

As they were putting the man in their vehicle, another car sped up to the scene, Mack, Sisca, and the other man, who has not been identified, were struck.

Gov. Tom Wolf released a statement on the incident, saying he was "deeply saddened by the tragic loss."

"This tragedy is a reminder that our law enforcement officers put their lives on the line every day, and we Pennsylvanians are grateful for the men and women who protect us and our communities," Wolf said.

The striking driver is suspected of DUI and remained on the scene.

Mack had served with the Pennsylvania State Police for 7-1/2 years, having enlisted in the Pennsylvania State Police in November 2014. He had graduated as a member of the 141st cadet class.

He was assigned, along with Sisca, to Troop K, according to the Officer Down Memorial Page. He is survived by his wife and two children.
