5 Suspects Nabbed In Lower Makefield Retail Theft Scheme
Lower Makefield Police said the suspects hit retail stores in two townships and involved a mother and daughter.
LOWER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA — Five people were nabbed in a retail theft scheme that involved stores in two towns and a mother and daughter among the suspects, police said.
The Lower Makefield Township Police Department said that two adult women and a male and female juvenile were actively concealing merchandise in bags near the fitting rooms at Kohl's in the 1600 block of Big Oak Road at 1:40 p.m. on Thursday.
Police spotted a gray Honda Odyssey with New Jersey registration in the parked lot, with a man inside. Inside the car, police found a black backpack and a black duffel bag with store merchandise.

Police also found multiple items stashed in the man's jacket pockets. The clothes he was wearing were also not purchased, police said.
The registered owner of the vehicle, and mother of the two juveniles, was detained inside the store along with her juvenile daughter, police said.

A search was conducted in which police found bags containing numerous items of clothing with retail tags on them.
Police said additional merchandise from another retail location in Falls Township was also recovered.
Lower Makefield Police said about $493.61 worth of unpaid merchandise was removed from Kohl’s.
A records check revealed the 50-year-old male driver from Warminster was wanted by the Bucks County Sheriff's Office. He was taken into police custody and turned over to the sheriff.
A 44-year-old Trenton, N.J., woman was charged with retail theft, receiving stolen property, and corruption of minors. A 36-year-old Trenton, N.J. woman was charged with retail theft and receiving stolen property.
Both were arraigned by District Justice Kronnagel and released on $5,000 unsecured bail.
