Yardley Borough Officer To Join Former Police Chief
The Yardley Borough Police Department is losing a police officer to join former Police Chief Joseph Kelly III in Lower Makefield Township.

YARDLEY BOROUGH, PA — The Yardley Borough Police Department is losing one of its officers who will be joining former Police Chief Joseph Kelly III on the Lower Makefield Township force.
After 5-and-a-half years, Patrol Officer First Class Jake Kulchinsky is moving on to work as a police officer in Lower Makefield Township Police Department.
Kelly took over the Lower Makefield police force in early April.

Kulchinsky has served as a patrol officer, quartermaster, and the department's fleet manager.
"Kulchinsky's dedication to duty, faith in service, and his willingness to always be there in a moment's notice reflects greatly upon the Yardley Borough Police Department, the Borough of Yardley, as well as himself," the police department said. "We wish Pfc. Kulchinsky, a safe, long, and rewarding career with the Lower Makefield Township Police Department."

On Thursday, Kulchinsky was sworn in by the honorable District Justice Corryn Kronnagel as the newest police officer with Lower Makefield Township police.
Kulchinsky, 28, is a Langhorne resident.
He is a 2015 graduate of Neshaminy High School and went on to earn his degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) in 2019, where he also completed the IUP Police Academy.
He brings with him over five years of law enforcement experience as a police officer with Yardley Borough.
Kelly replaced Police Chief Kenneth Coluzzi, who served 48 years in law enforcement, in early April. Coluzzi investigated the "Boy In the Box" case in Philadelphia.
The Lower Makefield Township Police Department has 41 full-time police officers, making it one of the bigger police departments in Bucks County, similar in size to police departments in Bensalem and Warminster townships.
