Harding Leads Race For Mayor Of Yardley: Unofficial Results
Read the details of the mayoral race between incumbent Christopher Harding and challenger David Appelbaum.

YARDLEY, PA — On Tuesday night, local voters chose Yardley's mayor for the coming four years.
Democrat David Appelbaum, an IT professional, challenged Republican incumbent Christopher Harding, a senior loan officer.
Harding had a lead over Appelbaum one week after the election with 657 votes; Appelbaum had 507 votes, according to unofficial results from the Bucks County Board of Elections.

Bucks counted 40.8 percent voter turnout in this election, or 193,694 ballots cast out of 475,049 registered voters.
Emergency management is a key part of Harding's framing of his candidacy, and of his past term as mayor. He has held the position since 2014.
"I am honored to work in conjunction with Chief Kelly of our Yardley Boro Police Department, and I am proud of their professional growth and commitment to their core values," he wrote in his Patch candidate profile. "Most importantly, I am confident I have achieved my goal of providing a voice for our residents."
Challenger Appelbaum is running as an extension of his volunteer work in the community.
"In addition to the mandated responsibilities of mayor including directing the police department, I will be visible, welcoming, and available to all members of our borough community," he wrote in his profile. "I'm a tireless advocate for Yardley, and as mayor I will improve the quality of life for residents, attract visitors, coordinate projects, and support our unique Main Street businesses so that we become another destination for people to to discover great things about Bucks County."
