"During my tenure with the Yardley Borough Police Department, I’ve had the distinct honor of working with and mentoring an outstanding team, and together we’ve made meaningful contributions to both the safety of our community and the effectiveness of the department," Kelly said when he submitted his resignation in March.

Kelly replaced Police Chief Kenneth Coluzzi, who served 48 years in law enforcement, in early April. Coluzzi investigated the "Boy In the Box" case in Philadelphia.
