RHODE ISLAND — A newly-released analysis has named the top five school districts in Rhode Island in 2025, according to Niche, a platform connecting students and families with colleges and schools.

The best school districts ranking, which was released along with lists of the best schools in each state, ranked the following districts in the top five:

1. Barrington Public Schools

Recieving an overall A+ grade from Niche, Barrington Public Schools has 3,405 students in grades PK, K-12 with a student-teacher ratio of 14 to 1, the website says. According to state test scores, 63% of students are at least proficient in math and 69% in reading.

2. North Kingstown School District

Receivng an overall A grade from Niche, North Kingstown School District has 3,842 students in grades PK, K-12 with a student-teacher ratio of 12 to 1. According to state test scores, 52% of students are at least proficient in math and 56% in reading.

3. East Greenwich Public Schools

Receiving an overall A grade from Niche, East Greenwich Public Schools has 2,543 students in grades PK, K-12 with a student-teacher ratio of 13 to 1. According to state test scores, 57% of students are at least proficient in math and 63% in reading.

4. Exeter-West Greenwich Regional School District

Receiving an overall A grade from Niche, Exeter-West Greenwich Regional School District has 1,550 students in grades PK, K-12 with a student-teacher ratio of 12 to 1. According to state test scores, 47% of students are at least proficient in math and 51% in reading.

5. Narragansett School System

Receiving an overall A grade from Niche, Narragansett School System has 1,128 students in grades PK, K-12 with a student-teacher ratio of 12 to 1. According to state test scores, 50% of students are at least proficient in math and 58% in reading.
