Johnson & Wales University Launches Recreational Cooking Classes

The classes are designed to be hands-on, interactive and inspiring, the school said.

PROVIDENCE, RI — Johnson & Wales University has launched new recreational cooking classes.

"Led by Johnson & Wales chef-instructors, classes are designed to be hands-on, interactive and inspiring," the university said in a media release.

JWU Kitchen Academy is the new home of all external culinary programming at the university, according to the release.

“JWU Kitchen Academy is a way for us to open our doors and give the public a taste of what it’s like to learn at Johnson & Wales from our world-class chefs in a professional kitchen setting,” Jason Evans, the dean of the College of Food Innovation & Technology, said in the release.

“These classes offer a welcoming space for food lovers of all skill levels to explore new techniques, connect over shared meals, and experience the joy of cooking firsthand,” Evans said.

Classes are generally three hours long and combine hands-on experience with demonstrations by chef instructors, according to the release.
