Rhode Island has the No. 7 schools in the country, according to new rankings from WalletHub. The personal finance site praised the state's high test scores and the safety of its schools.
To determine which states have the best and worst schools, WalletHub compared the 50 states and the District of Columbia across 32 key metrics of school safety and quality of education.
Overall, Rhode Island made a strong showing with an overall score of 59.07, just trailing Wisconsin by 0.64 and leading Indiana by 0.39.

Rhode Island had the fourth lowest bullying incidence rate. Only Hawaii, Delaware and the District of Columbia scored better in that category.
