The New England Patriots gave their fans plenty to cheer about for quite a while, but the days of Tom Brady and Bill Belichik are long gone, which may have something do with residents of Newport and Providence wanting a pro football team of their own, according to a recent survey.
The survey, conducted by the website livesportsontv.com, showed fans in Newport and Providence are the "most desperate to have their own professional franchise" compared to residents of other Rhode Island towns.
Nationally, Newport and Providence didn't place all that high, finishing 75th and 84th, respectively.
